Halloween Spook Skate (Parker), Sat. Oct. 23, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm, Grab your skates and a costume and head to the Fieldhouse for the annual Spook Skate! Costumes, candy, crafts, concessions and climbing will keep participants of all ages entertained throughout the evening. And don't forget the skating! I spent to afternoon in Historic Downtown Littleton with my mom and just found out about this, hurry because tickets (the bracelets) are going fast!

Denver Auto Show

The Denver Auto Show is April 7-11. My family and I went to this last year and it was really fun. It's at the Colorado Convention Center. Here is the description:

"The Denver Auto Show is bigger and better than ever! The car show is the perfect place to see the latest examples of fuel efficient technologies and aftermarket accessories. At the Colorado Convention Center you'll not only see all the new 2010 models, but also be treated to sneak peeks of selected 2011 intros, concepts and the latest in tricked out cars!"

This is really fun for the whole family. There is a kids pit stop that has a HUGE inflatable fire truck slide, and this year there is balloon artist and yo-yo master. There are also tons of food/drink/snack booths set up.

*I HIGHLY recommend taking the light rail, it is a lot cheaper than parking downtown, and it goes right up to the Colorado Convention Center, plus the kids love it!

Douglas County Library Events

It's not too late to register for the Youth Spring Reading Program, Hop To It! Kids ages 12 and under may register at any Douglas County Library location from February 1 to March 15. Participants with reading logs showing 12 hours of reading completed before March 29 will be eligible to receive a free book. As always, pre-readers may participate by listening to books read aloud. Also, the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock is celebrating the release of the new movie "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by having kids in grades 2-6 come make their own journal and play some fun games.
