So you are not really working with glass here, but it kind of reminds of that look. You take a coffee filter and (I use some cheap cookie sheets from the dollar store) and have the kids color whatever design on them with WASHABLE markers. Try to color in the whole coffee filter. Then take a spray bottle of water and lightly dampen it, just so the colors start to run. If you use too much water, it just washes off the marker and really just fades it. Then let them dry (they dry really fast), and TADA! Hang them in the window for the real stained glass look.
